Between Iran, Peter Hore and Australia
This installation is a result of complications that arise when cultures form ideas about one another from a distance. Infamous Australian “Serial Pest,” Peter Hore's intervention during the Iran/Australia World Cup soccer qualifier in 1997 provides the point around which these interpretations revolve.
Through documentation, correspondence, and myth making within Iran and Australia I have attempted to locate the figure of Peter Hore. In doing so he has become a meniscus between countries and stories that may never correlate. It is this non-location that becomes the site of the work creating a space to place ourselves in relation to others.
